Frost Away

FROST AWAY is calcium chloride in flake form, ideal for removing ice within minutes. Due to the heat generated during the thawing process, it has a high dew rate, even breaking up sheets of black ice. FROST AWAY can be used all year round. Especially in summer, when the differences between the outside temperature and the temperature in the cold room are very large. FROST AWAY can be used to quickly de-ice icy doors and rails. In winter, FROST AWAY is suitable for de-icing loading ramps or roadways, which can minimize the risk of accidents. FROST AWAY is easy to apply and does not cause damage to plants when the specified spreading quantity is observed.

  • Fast and effective de-icing
  • Can be used all year round
  • Easy to use
  • Can be used preventively
  • Environmentally friendly

Basis: calcium chloride
Physical state: solid, granules
Color: whitish
Odor: odorless
Melting point/Freezing point: 176°C
Boiling point: 782°C

pH value (at 20°C): 8-9 (5%)
Water solubility (at 20°C): 745 g/l
Density: 1.85 g/cm³
Oxidizing Properties: Not oxidizing
Water hazard class: 1 - slightly hazardous to water

  • APPLICATION:
Cold stores, refrigerated vehicles, frozen food companies, food industry, warehouses, logistics companies, industrial outdoor facilities
  • USE:
    - Spread FORST AWAY on ice and snow up to 10 g/m².
    - Note: Metals, asfalt, concrete, textiles are not chemically attacked. Copper and copper alloys are attacked by prolonged exposure. Particularly in the case of water-absorbent or non-thaw-resistant pavements and/or aggregates, frost damage is not prevented by ESE. The rapid supercooling that occurs with any deicing agent can lead to erosion of the soil surface.
    - Precautions: Do not apply more than 100 g/m² per year because of the possibility of overfertilization in the root zone of plants. Do not deposit mixture with granules in the root zone when clearing snow. Do not apply in soil heated or heated areas and together with other agents. Store separately from nitrites, dry and cool. Close container after use!
